Cahuita used to be a small fishing village. It has become a destination for visitors mainly because of Cahuita National Park and its incredible coral reefs. There are 35 species of coral and hundreds species of fish within this park, including sharks. You’ll also have the chance to admire octopi, urchins, and crustaceans. Inland the park turns into mangrove swamps and rainforest, and there are sandy hiking paths where visitors can explore the park on their own. Along the nearby coast you can find beaches of black sand and white sand. In less than an hour you can drive from La Casa del Mango to the beaches of Cocles, Punta Uva and Manzanillo – these are some of the nicest beaches on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast.

This boutique space has polished wood floors and exposed beams. La Casa del Mango’s Moroccan patio showcases the elegant and beachy soul of the house. Sliding glass doors and large windows let in lots of good natural light and ocean breezes. This house is designed to be as ecologically friendly as possible. Solar panels supply the house with heating, and ceiling fans keep the air circulating, eliminating the need for air conditioning.

Each room has its own private, furnished balcony. There are also en suite bathrooms, and closets that come with safety deposit boxes. All of the rooms have queen beds, and two of the rooms also have wheeled twin beds. On the rooftop deck you’ll have an incredible view, and provides an excellent lookout spot for bird watching. Here you can also find a massage table and free weights. You can park a rental car in the house’s private parking lot, which is large enough for two to three cars.

Outside, lounge furniture surrounds a pool in the middle of a tropical garden. Decks with lounge chairs and hammocks give you ample space to enjoy the outdoors. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the house, and a cable TV in the living room.

It’s easy to make meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a microwave, a blender, an electric oven, a dining space, and a breakfast bar. You can opt to have a maid and a chef present during your visit. There are also laundry services available, and the house has 24-hour reception and guards.

"This was the best trip our family ever had. We got exactly what we asked for, except the hotels were much better than we expected. I’ve never felt so satisfied and cared for."
