Kids Saving the Rainforest Tour

This animal sanctuary began with two 9-year-old girls selling crafts in an effort to raise money for rainforest preservation. Janine Licare and Aislin Livingstone’s project has expanded into a preserve that saves over 150 animals each year. On a trip to this preserve, you can expect to see 5 species of monkey, parrots, and sloths.

KSTR gives monkeys and sloths have a place to rest and recuperate before returning to the wild. About 200 Animals who can no longer survive in the wild call this sanctuary home. Proceeds from the tour and the gift go toward supporting KSTR’s mission.

Most of the animals that KSTR rescues are squirrel monkeys. You’ll also get to see nocturnal kinkajous if they’re awake, and watch a trained sloth expert bottle feed one of the resident sloths. The tour comes with a break for snacks and an optional swim in the reserve’s swimming pool.
