Experience Highlights

Educational
Learn Spanish

Spanish classes with CPI help students at any level advance their language abilities. An Intensive Course offers you four packed hours of Spanish each day. Class begins at 8:00 in the morning and lasts until noon; a coffee break in the middle of this session allows you to chat with fellow students before diving back into Spanish. This course amounts to 20 hours of Spanish each week. (In June and July, classes may be scheduled for the afternoon, operating from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.)

Want to take Spanish more intensely than the Intense Course? In the Super-Intensive Course, your 5.5-hour class runs 8 am–2:30 pm, allowing for a lunch hour in addition to the mid-morning coffee break. The afternoon session of this course focuses on conversation. Each week you will participate in 27.5 hours of Spanish with this option.

Whichever intensity level you choose, your class is capped at four students to ensure that you have ample opportunity to interact in Spanish. You may sign up for one-on-one lessons with a private CPI instructor or schedule private lessons to complement your group class. During June and July, private lessons are only scheduled in the afternoon.

CPI Monteverde also regularly offers Latin cooking and dance classes and movie nights. These are great ways to meet fellow students and acquire basic cultural exposure and skills. All of these extra activities are optional and free.
