This tour takes you to some of Guanacaste's top beaches. You'll start in Playa Flamingo and then travel via minibus to other beaches in the area, including Flamingo, Tamarindo, Playa Danta, Playa Dantita, Penca Beach, and Playa Conchal.

Flamingo Beach is a white sand beach that stands out even in Costa Rica’s large collection of sparkling white sand beaches. The beach has turquoise water, pristine sand, and shimmering palm trees. This has become the ideal place for developers to build lavish beach houses. As you stroll Flamingo Beach you’ll get to admire the luxurious villas and hotels in the area.

Tamarindo Beach has a reputation as one of Costa Rica’s most heavily trafficked beaches. The town here has lots of souvenir shops and restaurants. Tamarindo Beach has small, regular waves, making it a popular place to learn to surf.

Playa Danta and Playa Dantita are right next to each other on the shore of Catalinas Bay. Playa Dantita is typically a little less crowded. Both beaches have calm water that make it easy to snorkel an swim.

Playa Penca is small beach with white sand near Portero. This is a good spot for snorkeling, with calm water and decent visibility. On an underwater expedition here you can look for damselfish, moray eels, and angelfish. This is where you'll stop for a lunch break, at the Sol y Mar restaurant in Portero. The restaurant comes with a nice view of the ocean.

Conchal Beach has sand made up of crushed seashells. Lots of tropical fish gather near this beach. It also has almost perfectly clear water, making it the ideal location for snorkeling. Your guide will set you up with snorkeling equipment so you can swim and explore the wildlife just beneath the surface of the water.

Many of our tours and activities offer transportation pick up & drop off options from several locations and destinations. Options vary by tour, see “BOOKING REQUEST” for full details.

Traveler Comments

This was OK. We only snorkeled once for about 30 minutes. We visited about 5 beaches, so that gave us a good feel for what was around. Lunch was also good.

Great snorkeling trip. Great guide and driver. Would highly recommend.
