Study Spanish in Flamingo

Walk the beach at sunrise, dive into Spanish class from 8 am to noon, take an afternoon swim, and still have time to practice Spanish in the evening! Flamingo is a natural choice for studying Spanish. If you’re visiting between November and April, take a night hike at the nearby Marino Las Baulas National Park and watch for nesting leatherback sea turtles.

Learn Spanish

Spanish classes with CPI can help students of any level advance in their language abilities. Their Intensive Course offers you four packed hours of Spanish each day. Class begins at 8:00 in the morning and lasts until noon; a coffee break in the middle allows you to chat with fellow students before diving back into Spanish. This course includes 20 hours of Spanish each week. (Please note that during June and July, classes may be scheduled for the afternoon instead of the morning, operating 1:00–5:00 pm.)

Want to take your class up a notch? In the Super-Intensive Course, your 5.5-hour class will run 8 am–2:30 pm, allowing for a lunch hour in addition to the mid-morning coffee break. Each week you will participate in 27.5 hours of Spanish with this option. The extra afternoon hours focus on conversation.

Both intensity levels operate with small classes capped at four students to ensure that you have ample opportunity to interact in Spanish. You may sign up for one week of class or as many as you like. For exclusive attention in your studies, schedule additional private lessons or take only one-on-one lessons with a private CPI instructor (during June and July, private lessons are only scheduled in the afternoon).

CPI schools also offer learning opportunities beyond Spanish classes. Every location schedules cooking and dance classes, which are great ways to meet fellow students and acquire basic cultural skills. CPI schools also offer beach trips, walking tours, and movie nights in certain locations. All of these extra activities are optional and free.

One special feature of CPI language schools is Cultural Week. Every month, each school plans one week that is extra full of cultural activities centered around a theme. Class discussions focus on related topics, and classes prepare presentations for a “talent show” near the end of the week. Students might also enjoy appetizers during the coffee break, decorations on campus, or a trip related to the theme. If you study Spanish during Cultural Week, you are in for a bonus experience!
