Want to go on an adventure you and your friends won't soon forget? Become a cowboy or cowgirl for a day in Costa Rica! Hacienda Arío offers you the chance to be a cowhand on this special tour where you and your trusty horse will roam across the ranch's 1,924 ha (4,754 ac). Located along the Nicoya Peninsula, Hacienda Arío's property will take you across a variety of landscapes, including beaches, forests, prairies, and more.
By your side will be a bilingual naturalist guide to help you identify the many plants and animals you'll have the opportunity to see whilst you and your steed ride. Even better? You'll be spending your day with one of Hacienda Arío's authentic 'sabaneros' or 'cowboys.' You and your horse are sure to become good friends, because Hacienda Arío has a special breeding program; all tour horses are chosen for their temperament, and are then paired with riders based upon skill level.
With a minimum of four people required, this is a great activity for adventurous friends and families, because what really makes this tour is the fact that you'll be participating in a real cattle round up. Don't worry, there will be an explanation of what this will entail, as well as a warm up.
Go ahead and work up an appetite on this tour. When you first arrive, you'll be offered coffee and snacks. Whilst you're in cowboy/cowgirl mode, you'll enjoy a hearty Costa Rican country lunch.
Explore Costa Rica’s beautiful and rugged landscape as you play cowgirl or cowboy for the day — riding across the vast acreage of Hacienda Arío.
