Dream Villa Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Kalaw Market. Kalaw is a rural place, and the marketplace is still the center of life in the village. Venture farther south to Inle Lake to see the traditional craftsmen at work. You’ll also see fishermen steering their longboats using just one leg, looking for good spots to catch carp. See more handicrafts on a visit to Pindaya Cave — outside of the cave, you’ll find peddlers selling handmade paper umbrellas. The cave itself has 8,000 images of Buddha among the stalactites and stalagmites.
