Rivers, streams and creeks rush across the Panamanian landscape. Along the way, they tumble over boulders and cliffs and form impressive waterfalls. Many of Panama’s waterfalls are found within central Panama and the western highlands, although some are scattered around the Darién and Azuero Peninsula. As often as not, getting to these waterfalls involves hiking or horseback riding. When you do get there, it’s well worth it. You can swim in the cool water, take photos of the lush scenery, and enjoy the serene misty atmosphere.
