What Is Bali's Currency?
Bali and Indonesia’s currency is the Indonesian rupiah (Rp or IDR). The current exchange rate is approximately $1 USD to 13,509 Rp. Banknotes denominations are 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000, 20000, 50000, and 100000 rupiah. 100000 Rp is approximately $7.40 USD.

Coin denominations are 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 rupiah. All bills below 50,000 rupiahs and all coins are often called “small money”. When leaving Bali, note that many money changers outside of Indonesia will not exchange anything below 10,000 Rp notes.
