How Much of Bali's Energy Comes From Renewable Sources?
As of 2014, renewable power generation (a mix of photovoltaic, wind power, micro hydro, and waste-to-electricity plants) contributes around 1% of Bali's total power capacity. Electricity supply to Bali is provided from a mix of local diesel and gas plants, as well as an undersea link from Java. In 2015, PT Indonesia Power officially opened a first diesel and gas-powered plant considered to be environmentally friendly due to being cleaner and more efficient than previous plants.
