Places you'll stay
Mexico City
Mexico City rises from the basin of the former Lake Texcoco, where ancient canals still float beside modern skyscrapers. It is the capital of Mexico, perched at about 2,240 metres above sea level in the central highlands. With a population that exceeds eight million, the metropolis blends pre‑colonial ruins, colonial stone, and contemporary architecture in a single urban fabric.
Puebla
Puebla’s streets are lined with a rare mix of Renaissance façades and Mexican Baroque ornamentation, a combination that earned the city UNESCO World Heritage status in 1987. The city serves as the capital of the state of Puebla in Mexico and sits about 100 km east‑southeast of Mexico City on the historic route to the Atlantic port of Veracruz. With a metropolitan population of over three million, it functions as a major hub for eastern‑central Mexico and draws students to its well‑known universities.
Oaxaca City
A network of stone streets winds around the 16th‑century Santo Domingo de Guzmán, the most photographed baroque complex in Mexico. Oaxaca City sits in a high valley framed by the Sierra Madre del Sur, about 150 km inland from the Pacific coast. The city’s historic centre earned UNESCO World Heritage status in 1987, and its surrounding region holds the pre‑Columbian ruins of Monte Albán, also a World Heritage site. With a population of roughly 300,000, the city balances colonial architecture and living traditions.
Huatulco
Nine bays of white sand and turquoise water define Huatulco, a coastal tourism development in Oaxaca, Mexico. The area sits where the foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur meet the Pacific Ocean, about 400 kilometres east of Acapulco. Centered on the town of La Crucecita, Huatulco supports a population of roughly 50 000 and serves as the gateway to a series of nine bays that stretch along 26 kilometres of jagged coastline.
Moments to look forward to
Huatulco International Airport HUX
A runway thatruns alongside a protected bay gives Huatulco International Airport HUX a coastal silhouette rarely seen in commercial aviation. The airport serves the town of Santa María Huatulco on Mexico’s Pacific coast and functions as the main air gateway to the nine‑bay resort region of Bahías de Huatulco. Opened in 2005, the facility replaces a modest airstrip that once handled only charter flights.
Puebla Cathedral
The cathedral’sclaim to be the first sumptuous temple erected in the Americas and its 70‑meter height, which made it the tallest church in the Spanish colonies, immediately distinguishes it. Known as the Basilica Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, it dominates the historic centre of Puebla, Mexico, and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site that protects the city’s colonial core. Consecrated in 1649, it predates the Metropolitan Cathedral of Mexico City by four years, reflecting the ambition of its Spanish founders.
Monte Alban
Perched on an elevated plateau, Monte Alban presents a complex of stone pyramids that dominate the horizon and frame sweeping views of the surrounding terrain. The site is an archaeological complex in Mexico, where the arrangement of the pyramids and the height of the location combine to create a striking visual experience.
