What Are Border Crossings Like?

Service has greatly improved at border crossings in Bali since 2015. The queue can still be very long, especially during peak seasons. It’s best to get to the arrival hall quickly on deplaning.

Complete the Passenger Arrival Card given to you on your flight. Additional cards are available in the arrival area if needed.

If you need to obtain a Visa On Arrival, go to the desk before queuing up in the appropriate line at the Immigration Counters. There are signs clearly marking where to go. It is best to remain patient and be polite.

Next, proceed to the carousels and pick up your bags. There are trolleys and porters available for your convenience. Follow the signs to the Customs desk and hand them your Passenger Arrival Card.

Items allowed by Customs: ● 1 liter of alcoholic beverages ● 200 cigarettes OR 50 cigars OR 100 grams of tobacco

Prohibited Items: ● Firearms ● Narcotics and drugs ● Pornographic materials

All luggage is then placed in a scanner. Following the scanner, you may be selected for additional screening. If not, follow the arrows to the arrival area. There you’ll find money changers, ATMs, and taxi drivers in a lobby where you can meet your arranged transportation.
