Start with a 2-hour boat tour in Río Lagartos, where you’ll admire the incredible biodiversity of this reserve, home to nearly 400 bird species, including Mexico’s largest colony of pink flamingos, visible year-round. Experience a traditional Maya bath, an ancient ritual using white clay and salt to rejuvenate the skin. Afterwards, explore Ek Balam, an ancient Maya city whose Main Palace is taller than the Temple of Kukulcán at Chichén Itzá and features a nearly intact stuccoed mausoleum.
