You can visit the Mandalay Palace and climb to the top of the tower and visit the 800-foot (243-m) tall Mandalay Hill a short distance north of the hotel. From here, you’ll have a sweeping view of the entire city. Travel 20 minutes south of the hotel to see the legendary Mahamuni Image, which is famed for being an exact likeness of the Buddha. Here, supplicants apply gold leaf to the statue. While you’re in Mandalay, you should also consider taking a day trip to Anisakan Fall — after your car drops you off, you’ll hike for an hour through the forest and arrive at a gorgeous cascade.
Each room has a theme based on folk art — you'll stay in rooms decorated in Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, or Chin styles. All of the rooms are air conditioned. You’ll find a fresh fruit basket in your room when you arrive. Help yourself to the minibar, as well as the complimentary coffee and tea. Every room has a television with satellite channels and Wi-Fi access. Feel at ease with your valuables stored in the room’s safety deposit box.
The business center offers internet access and computers. You can also use the hotel’s e-mail and fax service. At the reception desk, you’ll be able to use an international direct dial telephone. The hotel offers a dry cleaning and laundry service.
There’s a pool, a spa, and a fitness center. Guests have a 30-minute massage included in their stay. You can also sign up for hair and skin treatments at the on-site salon.
The restaurant has an English aesthetic and a menu that offers a mix of Indian, Chinese, European, and Myanmar cuisine. There’s also a cozy canopy bar on the grounds of the hotel. You can help yourself to the hotel’s daily continental breakfast. If you’d like a night in, room service is available. If you’re traveling with the family, consider using the hotel’s babysitting services and dine out at one of the nearby restaurants.
