During Myanmar’s dry season, the tropical sun is quite strong. Locals use thanaka paste to protect themselves from sunburn. While thanaka does help prevent sun damage, it is not as effective as SPF 30 sunscreen. Bring your own sunscreen — Myanmar has a limited offering.
