Deep Board Tour
This tour combines snorkeling with a speedy twist. Instead of swimming around the corals, your boat will tow you along as you hang on to a specially designed board. On a deep board tour you’ll see huge schools of fish gathered around coral reefs. The underwater landscape off the coast of Bocas del Toro is varied, and the water is a bright, emerald green.

To get ready, you’ll put on normal snorkeling gear. Once you’re in the water, you’ll hang on to an aerodynamic, semicircular board made out of plastic. This board is securely tethered to the boat. You have control over how deep you want to go – to go deeper, simply point your board downward, and vice versa. Hanging on to the board allows you to mimic the motion of the fish swimming around you.
Experienced guides and a knowledgeable captain will pick out the best spot for your deep board tour. The water in this part of the Caribbean is usually fairly clear, allowing for good visibility as you fly through the water.
