The area around Panama City was wonderful and a highlight of our time in Panama, particularly the trip to the Embera village.
A family vacation that we needed…
This vacation started out as a big family trip, but eventually dwindled down to just us and the kids. Nevertheless, we ended up enjoying the trip more because of the flexibility to get around more easily! We love wildlife and nature, but weren't looking for anything too strenuous because of the small children. Anywhere ended up planning us the perfect balance of nature and culture...we love it!
Highlights of this vacation…
The area around Panama City was wonderful and a highlight of our time in Panama, particularly the trip to the Embera village. We got to ride down the river in a dugout canoe and explore the traditional villages and the lifestyle the people there led. The kids enjoyed the adventure too!
We’ll always remember the natural beauty of Panama…
Overall, we had a wonderful time. Although we had to skip a hike because we found it to be too intensive with the children, we were able to explore Boquete and admire its natural beauty. We placed our trust in Anywhere, and they followed through — that's all we could ask!

Panama City
Panama City is a hub in every sense of the word. Located in the Gulf of Panama along the Pacific Coast, Panama City sits in the heart of the country and serves as the main artery through which the rest of Panama receives its visitors, commerce, and culture.
Boquete
The small town of Boquete sits in the highlands of Panama’s Chiriquí province, snugly fitted into a lush valley and surrounded by towering mountains, gushing streams, and abundant coffee farms. Though once a sleepy mountain town forgotten by time, Boquete is beginning to see more and more tourists these days, and for good reason – its natural beauty is astounding and its range of activities spectacular. Panama’s only volcano, Volcán Barú, lies only 9 km away, providing visitors with excellent hiking, nature viewing, and camping. Boquete’s other attractions include white-water rafting, canopy tours, hot springs, botanical gardens, and more.
Colon
Colón, which lies along the central Caribbean coast of Panama, has historically been the country’s second-most important city. Today, however, Colón is riddled with poverty and crime. Aside from large corporate purchases at Zona Libre de Colón (Colón’s Free Trade Zone), most tourists these days are advised to stay away from the city.
