Your first stop is at Lempuyang Temple, which is one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bali. It is known for its split gate—gates that are also known as the “gates to heaven.” Near the temple gates, you’ll have an incredible view of the Mount Agung volcano, which adds to the mystical feeling that these grounds radiate.

The Tirta Gangga water palace offers a maze of pools and fountains throughout its pristine gardens. These are sacred waters, and Hindu worshippers come here to bathe in the sacred pools. Views of the rice fields from outside the temple are another highlight of this tour, and your first glimpse of the lush terraces that you’ll get to see more of as you approach Ubud.

Next, you’ll follow the steep steps to the majestic Tukad Cepung Waterfall, a brilliant cascade that streams through a sunny opening in a cave. This is where water shoes will come in handy, as the steps down to the waterfalls are slippery. If you want, you can take a swim in the cool, natural swimming hole at the base of the stairs.

Make your way to the rice fields of Tegallalang, where rice sprouts among coconut trees. Your tour will stop here for the chance to walk through the greenery. Finally, your tour concludes with a visit to the famous Bali swing. The swing is suspended from ropes that offer a tether of 100 feet (30 m), allowing you to fly high over the rice terraces, with the help of a friendly push from your guide.
