Pedasi is a small, attractive town set along the eastern coast of the Azuero Peninsula. This charming town is close to beaches that stretch on forever and are without crowds. For this reason, Pedasi is a good place to get some low-key beach time. It’s fun to go horseback riding along the coast or head out into the ocean for some deep-sea fishing—the fishing here can be so good that the area is nicknamed the “Tuna Coast.” The Isla Iguana Wildlife Refuge is another place that travelers can visit. This small island is a short boat ride away. You can snorkel and scuba in the coral reefs surrounding the island, or relax along one of its beaches.

Casa de Campo is set along the main road leading into Pedasi. The hotel’s 7,000-square-meter property is peaceful and filled with trees, flowers, and an organic garden. The hotel, designed by a Moroccan architect, mixes traditional and modern elements. The whole aesthetic is spacious and luxurious. It retains a classically Panamanian character, while not holding back on contemporary touches.

The common areas are easily accessible from all of the rooms. There is a swimming pool surrounded by sun chairs, and a rancho slung with hammocks that is a perfect place to nap. Guests can dine at the hotel’s restaurant, which serves a complimentary breakfast every morning. All ingredients are local, including fresh eggs, locally made cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, and fresh breads and rolls.

Casa de Campo’s rooms have high, wooden ceilings and tile floors. Four rooms are set around the pool and two rooms are available in the main house. The rooms have soft lighting, comfortable beds, ceiling fans, and wireless Internet. Two of the nicer rooms have two bathroom sinks and a separate stone bathtub.

The owners of Casa de Campo are friendly and accommodating. They work hard to make sure that guests feel at home and are onsite to deal with any issues that may arise.
