Visits to Tabanan aren’t complete without a guided trek through the lovely countryside. You’ll see abundant rice paddies, coconut trees swaying in the breeze, and rushing rivers. Visitors to this area should also plan to visit Tanah Lot, one of Indonesia’s best known spiritual sites. This shrine was built on an outcropping that juts out into the water, allowing for the waves to crash around its base. This 15th-century shrine was built in homage to Varuna, the Hindu god of the sea, and is one of the most-photographed sights on an already hugely photogenic island.
Soori Bali also emphasizes environmental sustainability with its locally sourced building materials. The architecture blends traditional Balinese style with streamlined, modern elegance. There’s also a lengthy swimming pool with clear, blue-green water.
