Adventure in Nusa Penida – Two-Day Roadtrip

This two-day tour takes you on a thorough exploration of Nusa Penida’s beaches. You can’t see them all in one day, so this itinerary includes an overnight stay at simple accommodations. Nusa Penida is larger and less developed than the other Nusa islands, which is a huge part of the draw to this area. It has fewer luxury amenities, and food is more expensive than in the rest of Indonesia – but both of these factors have an upside, since they keep the island from getting too busy.

Please note: Day 2 has breakfast included. You’ll have breaks for lunch built into the itinerary, which visitors purchase themselves (the same goes for dinner).

Day 1

Make sure you’re well-rested and fed before you set out on this busy first day.

Diamond beach – Your tour begins with a visit to Diamond Beach where you’ll have an incredible, cliffside view. Then, you’ll descend the stairs that are carved into the cliff, admiring the scenery all the way down (and then again on the steep return climb).

Atuh Beach – Right next to Diamond Beach, you’ll find the balmy shores of Atuh Beach. This beach is also accessible via stairs, and you’ll be able to see incredible rocky formations just off shore.

Raja Lima — Also known as the “Thousands Islands Viewpoint.” This is another incredible view of the rocky islands that cluster near Nusa Penida’s coastline. You’ll visit a special lookout situated in a treehouse overlooking the cliff.

Crystal Bay – This is one of the most popular beaches in Nusa Penida, and the ideal stop to end your day. Crystal Bay faces west, offering a spectacular view of the sunset.

At the end of this action-packed day of swimming and strolling, you’ll be ready for a good night’s rest. Transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 2

Your day begins with breakfast at the hotel.

Broken Beach — Observe the bright, blue water under a natural bridge over the ocean. This beach gets its name from its unusual shape, which helps create the scenic spot called Angel Billabong.

Angel Billabong - With some luck, you’ll get to see Angel Billabong at low tide, when it’s at its most photogenic. Please note: Although you’ll see photos of people swimming here, it’s not considered safe because of the tides. Don’t worry! There are plenty of other opportunities to swim during this tour.

Kellingking Beach – This beach is also known as “T-Rex Beach” because of the shape of the cliffs from an aerial view. There’s also a tree called the “Angel Tree” that offers a sturdy branch where visitors can strike a pose suspended over the beautiful water.

Paluang Cliff – From here, you’ll get to see another side of the Kellingking Beach – one last stunning view before the conclusion of this unforgettable road trip.

At the end of the day, you’ll return to the harbor and sail back to Bali.
