Tandjung Sari is an ageless beauty. Initiated in the 1960’s, the Dutch-Indonesian artist-entrepreneur Wija Wawo-Runtu bought a piece of land on Sanur beach in Bali and built a little house with his wife. This family home on the beach has evolved into Bali’s original boutique resort sought after by the rich and famous, who were charmed by its blend of simplicity and sophistication – its rustic local architecture adorned with antiques; its luxuriant beach side tropical gardens and superb Indonesian cuisine; and above all, the easy-going hospitality of the Wawo-Runtus, who were themselves the hub of an international network of friends, and entertain with a great flair.
