AvailableExplore both the land and water during this combination tour in Panama. This tour includes a ride up the rainforest aerial tram and a boat ride through Gatun Lake.
The aerial tram lifts you some 280 feet (85 m) through the rainforest. As you slowly ascend, you’ll pass through secondary forest and have the opportunity to spot birds, monkeys, and sloths. Once you reach the top of the tram, there is a 100-foot (30-m) observation tower that you can climb—this tower has incredible views of the surrounding rainforest and Panama Canal. It’s also a great place to look for birds.
During the Gatun Lake portion of this tour, you’ll board a boat and head up the Chagres River en route to the lake. Measuring some 165 square miles (425 square km), Gatun Lake is one of the largest artificial lakes in the world. As you ride through its murky waters, you’ll pass forested islands and have the opportunity spot white-faced capuchin and howler monkeys. Birds are commonly seen as well.
This tour is a good option for nature lovers, as it provides a good look at both the forest and freshwater habitats of Panama.
