What is Accessibility Like for Disabled Travelers?
Bali is the most popular destination in Indonesia for disabled travelers, but it is not easy. In general, Indonesia has little in the way of legislation and programs for disabled travelers. Those with limited mobility will find it difficult, as streets and sidewalks are a hodgepodge of potholes, motorcycles, and varying levels. However, a dedicated car with a driver can be hired at a negotiated rate.
That said, there are some destinations in Bali more accessible than others. Tanah Lot temple and GWK Cultural Park are wheelchair friendly, as is Pura Besakih temple on Gunung Agung. Bali Access Travel is one of several operators to provide travel services for the disabled in Bali.
