Panama is a hidden gem. I loved the destinations and experiences we had in Panama. We started off our trip at Eclypse de Mar when we were at Isla Bastimentos. It is at an amazing Location and the bungalows are so lovely. We loved sleeping with all the windows and doors open. Loved the rain. Loved diving into the ocean from the bungalow. It's a very relaxing place to start an adventure in Panama.
Activities you shouldn’t miss when visiting Panama…
I want to recommend Yandup Island and Playón Chico, Ganu Yala to everyone visiting Panama. It was not only paradise, but the cultural experience of sharing in the lives of the local people is a memory our family will never forget. The islands with the white-sand beaches were amazing, and snorkeling in their waters was unforgettable. We got to visit a new pristine island each morning.
The best memories in Boquete…
Finally, Boquete. We spent a whole day hiking and had a lovely morning on top of the volcano. Can you believe I also found the best gelato in Panama in this town? We recommend Anywhere.com all the time. This is our third trip planned by them and we can't wait to visit a new country!

Panama City
Panama City is a hub in every sense of the word. Located in the Gulf of Panama along the Pacific Coast, Panama City sits in the heart of the country and serves as the main artery through which the rest of Panama receives its visitors, commerce, and culture.
Isla Bastimentos
Located in the Bocas del Toro archipelago, Isla Bastimentos is a sprawling 52 km island that is only a ten-minute boat ride from Isla Colón. The highlights of Isla Bastimentos are vast, ranging from the world-class snorkeling opportunities in Parque Nacional Marino Isla Bastimentos to the chilled-out beaches on the north side of the island.
Boquete
The small town of Boquete sits in the highlands of Panama’s Chiriquí province, snugly fitted into a lush valley and surrounded by towering mountains, gushing streams, and abundant coffee farms. Though once a sleepy mountain town forgotten by time, Boquete is beginning to see more and more tourists these days, and for good reason – its natural beauty is astounding and its range of activities spectacular. Panama’s only volcano, Volcán Barú, lies only 9 km away, providing visitors with excellent hiking, nature viewing, and camping. Boquete’s other attractions include white-water rafting, canopy tours, hot springs, botanical gardens, and more.
Boca Chica
Boca Chica is a small fishing village along Panama’s central Pacific coast that acts primarily as the gateway to both the Gulf of Chiriquí National Park (Parque Nacional Marino Golfo de Chiriquí) and the neighboring island of Boca Brava. The natural beauty of this place is impressive, but it’s still off-the-radar for most tourists. The town itself is modest and mainly local; however, there are a scattering of nice accommodations and restaurants within the immediate vicinity.
Yandup Island
Like all of the islands in the Guna Yala Comarca, these islands are surrounded by bright, clear water. You’ll be greeted by swaying palms and hammocks, within easy access of the coral reef that’s just off shore. Visitors here tend to fill their days with boating, swimming, and trips to nearby Guna communities.

Baru Volcano National Park
Set just outside the town of Boquete in Panama’s western highlands, the Barú Volcano National Park (Parque Nacional Volcán Barú) is large and impressive. The park contains Panama’s only volcano, highest peak, and several scenic (albeit rugged) hiking trails. Birders are especially fond of the park, as it offers the chance to spot one of Central America’s most elusive birds, the resplendent quetzal.
