Find Yourself in Bali
Escape the digital world and connect to something greater than yourself and your screen through yoga, surfing, cultural exchanges, and sacred blessings in Bali.
This trip offers adventure and enlightenment…
We’ve designed this Signature Trip to be a truly unique getaway. Yes, you’ll enjoy activities such as yoga and surfing the aquamarine waters of Bali, but you’ll also participate in a purification ceremony, talk to a fortune teller, and learn about the island’s culture through authentic exchanges.
What will make your friends jealous?
The discernible change in you upon your return. There’s a reason people come back to Bali time and time again. Cozy cafes, exquisite rice fields, pristine beaches, and mountain top temples all combine to pull you in — keep you musing, keep you feeling, keep you living in the magic of the moment.
Our advice to visitors of Bali is…
Approach the island with an open heart and mind. Even if you don’t consider yourself terribly spiritual, appreciate that you have the opportunity to become one with your surroundings. Truly engage with the people you’ll meet — don’t just explore the world, become a part of it on a much deeper level.
Places you'll stay
Canggu
Canggu is a small area on the southwest coast of Bali nestled between bustling Seminyak to its south and Tanah Lot to the north. Known among expats as “The Gu,” the area was once a sleepy surfing village, completely unknown to the tourism industry. Canggu is now, arguably, the place to be seen on the island, whether at one of the contemporary cafes or mellow, beachfront bars. This place oozes chicness and can be reached in just under an hour from Denpasar airport.
Ubud
Set in Bali’s lush interior, Ubud is the island’s cultural hub. As of late, it has become bustling tourist destination which bears little resemblance to a traditional Balinese village. Patches of paradise can still be found in Ubud, and it remains the center for spiritual tourism.
Jimbaran
Jimbaran is known as the seafood capital of Bali. The bay has a beautiful sunset, punctuated by jetliners landing at the nearby Denpasar airport.
Mengwi
Mengwi is a sub-district of the Badung regency which stretches from the southwest coast through the center of the island and also covers Bali's heaviest tourist regions, including Kuta, Seminyak, and Canggu. The Mengwi village itself is located almost halfway between Ubud and Bali’s southwest coast, located just slightly closer to Ubud. The majority of visitors to the village have come from more tourist-centric areas of the island are just passing through for a chance to experience a traditional Balinese village.
Uluwatu
Uluwatu has some of the world’s best surf breaks, beautiful hidden beaches, and epic sunset views. The limestone cliff-fringed peninsula is home to the iconic Uluwatu Temple and other cultural opportunities. The area hasn’t been overdeveloped, so it’s still relaxing and peaceful. There’s a variety of accommodations available from inexpensive surfer rooms to deluxe resorts; and cliffside dining options with panoramic ocean vistas. Uluwatu is on the Southwestern tip of the Bukit Peninsula about 1 hour south of Ngurah Rai Airport.
Moments to look forward to
Puri Lukisan Museum
The “Palace of Paintings” is Bali’s oldest art museum and showcases a large collection of modern-traditional Balinese paintings and woodwork. The museum’s collection represents important Balinese artistic styles including works from the Wayang, Sanur, Batuan, Ubud, Young Artist, and Keliki schools. It’s located in central Ubud, in the Gianyar Regency about one hour North of Denpasar. The museum’s lush landscaped grounds and quiet galleries of beautiful local artwork offer a welcome retreat from the often crowded streets of Ubud.
Gunung Kawi
Gunung Kawi is filled with a sense of ancient majesty and mystery — no one is sure of its original purpose. One of the oldest archaeological sites in Bali, it has candi (shrines) carved into 8-m high niches on the riverside cliff. This pre-Hindu construction dates back to 11th-century Balinese kings. A walk through spectacular rice fields leads to a path descending into the Pakerisan River Valley, where the monuments rest on the banks of the holy river. They are accompanied by Pura Gunung Kawi, a modern-day Balinese Hindu water temple. Located in Tampaksiring in north-central Gianyar Regency, a half hour north of Ubud, this complex looks and feels like the setting of an Indiana Jones film.
Uluwatu Temple
This Balinese Hindu temple is in a spectacular location perched on the side of steep limestone cliffs towering 229 feet (70 m) above the Indian Ocean. One of the best spots for sunset photos, Uluwatu Temple also has packs of kleptomaniac gray macaque monkeys and traditional Kecak dance performances. It’s a trek to visit this temple at the southern tip of the Bukit Peninsula, but the sunset vistas and neighboring beaches make it worth the trip.
