Tour Description

Your experience begins in Aguas Calientes, where you'll board the shuttle bus for the short ride to the entrance of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

After meeting your certified guide, you'll enter the sanctuary with your Circuit 1C ticket and begin a scenic walk along the Upper Terrace Route. Following original Inca stone paths, your guide will explain the history of Machu Picchu, the engineering achievements of the Incas, and the spiritual importance of the surrounding mountains.

The trail leads to the legendary Sun Gate (Inti Punku), the ceremonial gateway that once welcomed travelers arriving via the Classic Inca Trail. The walk takes approximately 1.5 hours, depending on your pace, and rewards you with spectacular panoramic views of Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and the breathtaking Andean landscape. Along the route, there will be several opportunities to stop for photographs and admire one of the most iconic views in South America.
