Retama Inn offers simple accommodations just outside of Machu Picchu. Stay here to get the most out of your time in the Andes and stay in a room that provides all the coziness you could want in a simple mountain lodge. Best of all, you'll be able to hear the soothing rush of the Río Vilcabamba from your room.
Retama Inn is a short distance from the train station, which is how many people arrive in Aguas Calientes from Cusco or Ollantaytambo. You can also quickly walk from the hotel to the bust that brings you to Machu Picchu. Aguas Calientes is typically seen as the gateway to Machu Picchu, but it does have a few attractions of its own, including popular hot springs. Besides Machu Picchu, you might also check out nearby attractions like Huayna Picchu — its peak offers an incredible view of the Machu Picchu ruins.
If you came from the train station, bell boys will be happy to meet you there and bring your luggage to the hotel. There’s a breakfast buffet included in the price of your room, so you can get a quick start to your day.
Rooms have cozy furnishings and welcoming touches that include a fruit basket and bottled water. You can also help yourself to the tea and coffee making stations. Located high in the mountains, the rooms keep the chilly mountain air at bay with space heaters and the bathrooms supply hot water 24/7. Ensuite bathrooms also come with hair dryers.
Guests have access to Wi-Fi in their rooms, and you can also unwind by flipping through the channels on the plasma TVs. If you have anything you’d like to keep locked away, store it in the safety deposit box. After long days of hiking and exploring, you’ll be glad to make use of the hotel’s handy laundry service.

Feedback from Travelers
Spent a night only (very tired) and did not fully enjoy the hotel accommodation. The staff was friendly & helpful. The room was clean & neat. The walk to the railway station was bit difficult carrying large backpacks up & down slopes.
