Located in central Cusco, Hostal Cusco Plaza I is the ideal home base for an exploration of the imperial city of the Inca. This hotel is as cozy on the inside as it is bustling and exciting on the outside.

No need to hire a cab – it’s a short walk from Hostal Cusco Plaza I to some of Cusco’s main cultural attractions. You can walk 5 minutes north of the hotel to the Plaza de Armas, the city’s central park that retains the colonial splendor of the 16th century. To the east of the Plaza, you can’t miss the looming Cusco Cathedral, built in the over-the-top style of the 17th century Spanish conquistadors. Inside, you can see a number of important religious artifacts, including the Black Christ. This icon turned black from the smoke of the candles burned during services for the first few centuries of its existence. It is believed to have miraculous powers, and is paraded down the streets during the festival of El Señor de Los Milagros, held every October.

Next to the Cusco Cathedral, you’ll find the Iglesia de Triunfo. This is the oldest church in Cusco, founded in 1536. Walk a few minutes south of the hotel to Korikancha, the Inca temple of the sun that was transformed into the Spanish cathedral of Santo Domingo. On your way to any of these monuments, you’ll pass many busy bars and restaurants. They offer delicious options for a taste of regional cuisine.

Rooms at Hostal Cusco Plaza I are very clean, with large windows and high ceilings. In the private bathrooms, guests have access to reliable hot water. It can get cold in the highlands, so the hotel has heating. Your room here comes with a cable TV and a phone. If you need to make a fax, ask the friendly staff to use the hotel’s fax machine. While you’re exploring the town, the hotel’s safety deposit box and luggage storage facility will keep your belongings safe and secure.

Stop by the Hostal’s cafeteria for a quick continental breakfast in the morning. This meal is included in your stay. The cafeteria also serves lunch and dinner, for convenient meals between tours of the city.

Hostal Plaza Cusco I’s lobby is decorated in saturated hues of orange and yellow. The comfortable furniture invites guests to spend some time on the couch, enjoying the free Wi-Fi or a good book. Save yourself more time for relaxing, and let the hotel take care of your clothes with their convenient laundry service.
