Tumbes is a town in northwest Peru. Set near the Pacific coast, the town is a gateway for a number of beaches in the region. Aside from beach time, travelers to this area will enjoy visiting several nature reserves. The reserves protect Peru’s only mangrove swamps, which you can tour on boat and spot crocodiles, birds, and more. The town of Zorritos is about 20 miles (32 km) south of Tumbes.
Casa Andina Select Tumbes is set in a beautiful area outside Zorritos—this gives it a peaceful and secluded setting. The climate here is ideal, making it easy for travelers to enjoy the sun and waves.
The hotel features 57 rooms set in two-story bungalows. The rooms are large, spacious, and clean. They have private balconies/patios that overlook the pool, ocean, or garden—spending time out here in the morning or early evening is pleasant. The beds are big and comfortable, and there is air-conditioning to keep the rooms cool during the warmer months.
All rooms also come equipped with a private hot water bathroom, LED TV, free Wi-Fi, safety deposit box, and mini-fridge. There are suites that extend over two floors, with a king-size bed on the first floor and two single beds on the second floor. This is a good option for groups or families.
Casa Andina Select Tumbes has a beautiful swimming pool. The pool is big and refreshing and provides guests with an awesome place to relax in the afternoon. A pool bar makes grabbing a cocktail and lounging in the sun or water easy. However, if you’re feeling like a little exercise instead, head to the hotel’s gym and get a work out in. Afterwards you can stretch, sweat and relax in the sauna. Massages can also be arranged.
The food at the hotel’s restaurant is tasty and varied. A buffet breakfast is served each morning, and there are all kinds of options for lunch and dinner, including lobster, honey chicken, ceviche, wings, and chowder. The portions are large and filling.
