A vacation is all about treating yourself and breaking away from the norm. What could be more indulgent than taking a train ride? The sound of the main engine slowly begins to chug along, you pick up speed, and bit by bit you're on your way. Independent of the usual traffic that accompanys a commute, you'll realize that when you take the train, the transportation is a part of the journey.
With a maximum of 48 seats per car, you'll have plenty of room to enjoy the Expedition's panoramic views, air conditioning, and stereo surround system. Fancy writing in your journal or playing a game of cards? You can do that with ease, thanks to the anti-vibration system. Although, why do anything at all? For once, rather than let the world pass you by as you stare at a device in your hands, we suggest making a memory you'll cherish for the rest of your life as you make your way through the winding rails of Peru. Appreciate the irony of traveling through a land of ancient civilizations via a once modern, now old-fashioned, mode of transportation.
The train's helpful and friendly attendants are there to answer your questions and enhance your journey. In addition to their friendly assistance, you can count on:
- Comfortable seating. - Snacks and beverages available for purchase. - Gift shop.
Your on-board luggage must weigh no more than 11 pounds (5 kg), so a backpack or carry-on of 62 inches (157 cm) length, width, and height is advised. On-board luggage is an honour-based system; train attendants will not be checking the weight of each individual bag, so please adhere to this rule. For good measure, you are advised to leave the brunt of your luggage in hotel storage and retrieve it upon your return (if going round-trip).
Watch the world go by without letting it pass you by. Book this fun and exciting tour throughout the Peruvian Andes and Sacred Valley aboard PeruRail's Expedition.
