The Mintons, five of them, crossed Peru from sea level to the high Andes, trading three nights of Amazon jungle near Puerto Maldonado for the thin air of the Sacred Valley. Nestling in the dip of the Watanay River Valley, from above the city of Cusco takes the shape of a puma, which some historians theorize was a purposeful design.
