Mancora is a hip surf town along Peru’s northern coast. It’s a sunny and happening place that attracts a good number of people throughout the year. The surfing here is stellar, as is the nightlife. Aside from surfing and partying, travelers can also enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and trips to nature reserves near Tumbes.
The property of Vichayito Bungalows and Tents runs right alongside the beach. Guests of this hotel will enjoy easy access to the sand and surf, as well as the use of beach chairs and shade umbrellas.
The hotel is unlike others in the area, as the accommodations include 26 Bedouin-style tents. The tents are spacious and made of a thick canvas that allows guests to enjoy both privacy and the sound of the ocean. The tents have high quality amenities and a large terrace where you can relax and enjoy beautiful sunsets. All tents are equipped with a private hot water bathroom, mini-fridge/mini-bar, cable TV, and a safety deposit box. The beds are big and comfy and set with cotton sheets. What’s more, the suite tents are larger and more luxurious—these come equipped with air conditioning, a living room, and a freestanding bathtub.
Another accommodation option is the hotel’s bungalows. These wooden huts are built on stilts over the sand. They offer all the comforts of a small house and enjoy beautiful views of the sea or gardens. The bungalows include all of the same amenities as the tents, but are larger and have more sitting areas and/or bedrooms. Some bungalows have 2–3 bedrooms.
There is an onsite restaurant that serves a range of delicious food. Located next to the swimming pool, the restaurant specializes in Mediterranean dishes and seafood. A large American breakfast buffet is served here daily. Dinner options include lobster ceviche, garlic spaghetti, and grilled tuna. After eating, sip on a refreshing cocktail at one of two bars—one bar overlooks the beach while the other adjoins the pool.
Guests of Vichayito Bungalows and Tents can relax beside the swimming pool or visit the onsite K’oral Spa. The spa offers a number of treatments, many of which incorporate local ingredients like coffee, chocolate, and passion fruit. Massages, manicures, pedicures, hydrotherapy, and reflexology are available; there is also a dry sauna, wet sauna, and Jacuzzi here.
Wonderful place to visit! The staff, room and food were excellent. Really enjoyed the Ceviches here! Would highly recommend to others visiting Mancora.
