Hotel Pakaritampu

Ollantaytambo is a traditional town in Peru’s Sacred Valley. Machu Picchu isn’t far from here, and there are lovely mountains that surround the town. Many travelers stop in Ollantaytambo on their way to Machu Picchu. The surrounding mountains offer up places to hike, bike, raft, and ride horses. There are also some cool Incan ruins above town to visit.

Hotel Pakaritampu has rooms that spread out around lovely gardens, giving it a secluded and quiet feel. The hotel is a short, 3-minute walk from the local train station.

The hotel rooms are spacious and simply decorated. They have brightly painted walls and big windows that let in lots of light. All rooms have a private bathroom with a hot water shower, hair dryer, and bath amenities. There is a cable TV (although given the beautiful surroundings, you probably won’t use it much) and a safe deposit box for storing valuables. Complimentary bottles of water are provided and there is free Wi-Fi available in all rooms. There is also one suite that has a living and dining room.

The hotel extends around beautifully landscaped gardens. The trees and flowers attract hummingbirds, and there are even resident llamas grazing on the lawn. The hotel is close to the Andes Mountains and has gorgeous views of the nearby peaks. There are cabanas where you can sit outside and enjoy the lovely environment. Hotel Pakaritampu’s other public areas include a TV room, fireplace, library and terrace.

Breakfast can be enjoyed in the hotel’s restaurant. The breakfast is tasty and includes options like cereal, fruit, toast, yogurt, eggs, meat, cheese, coffee, and tea. The menu for lunch and dinner is varied and includes international items and Nuevo Andean cuisine. The onsite bar can whip-up a number of refreshing cocktails, and is well stocked with beer and wine.

Hotel Pakaritampu has free parking for guests, and also offers laundry service and luggage storage. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful.
