The Vistadome Train is surrounded by windows, providing its passengers with unparalleled views of Peru's Sacred Valley. This train departs from Ollantaytambo and stops in Aguas Calientes, the closest town to Machu Picchu.

The Vistadome has large, panoramic windows on its sides and ceiling. This makes it easy to glance outside and take in the stellar scenery you're sure to pass. The route leads through narrow gorges and passes by quaint Andean towns. While riding this train, you'll have a unique sense of being part of the landscape rather than a spectator of it.

The train is comfortable and comes equipped with air conditioning and heating. Travelers can kick back in leather seats or go grab a cup of coffee while on board. Furthermore, some rides may include entertainment by musicians or dancers.

This train departs from the Ollantaytambo train station. The ride to Aguas Calientes takes about 1.5 hours, and there are several departure times to choose from. Travelers can also combine this train ride with tours of Machu Picchu.

What to Bring

Comfortable clothing and camera. - Trains only allows a back pack of 5 kilos (11 pounds). Staff do not have time to verify the weight, but anyway it would be better to leave the rest of luggage at your hotel storage, then when you come back from Machu Picchu, you can pick it up.
