Puno the largest town along the shores of Lake Titicaca, and most travelers will pass through here while en route to other nearby destinations. The city hosts an array of restaurants, shops and bars, as well as a few attractions. You can visit the Yavari, an English ship that dates to 1862, or a 17th-century cathedral in the Plaza de Armas. Kayaking can be enjoyed on the lake, and horseback rides can be taken in certain areas outside Puno.
As its name implies, Hotel Hacienda Plaza de Armas is set near the Plaza de Armas in Puno. From this location it’s easy to explore the town on foot. The waterfront is about a 15-minute walk from here.
