Amaru Community, Llama Farm and Pisaq Market

The Amaru Community is a unique and small Andean village, whose villagers welcome visitors with native music and beautiful native flowers decoration at the entrance of their houses. Besides a symbolic offering to Mother Earth or Pachamama, as a gratitude for daily life, food abundance, harmony, peace and the opportunity of meeting brothers from different cultures they are great masters in the art of weaving under a unique and authentic tradition from their ancestors.

PIck up from your hotel in Cusco to take you to the Sacred Valley. Along the way, you will visit the Andean community of Amaru, where you will experience the daily life of a typical mountain community and observe how the people weave textiles, such as belts and blankets, and how they grow and harvest their produce. You will also have the opportunity to taste the delicious different types of Andean potatoes and corn.

After that, we will continue and we will make a number of stops at some stunning photographic viewpoints and fascinating places. One of the stops will be at a Llama and Alpaca Farm, where you will get up close and personal with these wonderful creatures and even be able to feed them! The farm also produces high-quality pieces from the wool, which you may purchase.

We will then continue through the valley to visit the town of Pisaq, *which has a large daily market full of goods for both tourists and locals. On this market you will find villagers, coming from the mountains, to sell their home-grown produce and unique handmade arts and crafts.
