You can chooe from itineraries that depart either the morning, afternoon, and evening. The earlier arrival gives you the chance to see citadel in the soft light of the morning sun, and probably works better for travelers who also want to also explore the nearby summit of Huayna Picchu. The afternoon route gets you to Machu Picchu during the least busy time of day. If you arrive in the evening, plan to spend the night in Aguas Calientes and see the ruins in the morning.
During your trip, you can look forward to snacks, as well as hot and cold beverages. These aren’t your typical selection of chips and soda – look forward to drinks prepared using local fruit juices and herbs. Relaxing background music makes the time pass quickly, although with the plush seats and incredible sights, you won’t be in a rush to arrive.
Please note: Make sure to arrive 30 minutes before departure, and bring your printed ticket with you.
