Chiclayo is a commercial hub in northern Peru. This city is one of the region’s most popular travel destinations because of the indigenous Moche and Sicán cultures, which built cities, pyramids and tombs in the surrounding desert from 100 A.D. until 1470 A.D. These days, travelers can visit the original tombs and large pyramids that remain. There are extraordinary museums dedicated to each culture that are fascinating to visit.
