Urubamba is set squarely within Peru’s Sacred Valley. The town makes a good home base for exploring the nearby area—it’s 20 minutes from Ollantaytambo and 40 minutes from Pisac. Another highway heads into the high plains where you’ll find the traditional town of Chinchero and Cusco. Urubamba itself is mellow and friendly. Aside from a cathedral and town square, it doesn’t have many sights. It does, however, have a good assortment of restaurants, bars, and cafés. And the setting, with the snowy peaks of the Cordillera Urubamba in the distance, is spectacular.
Tambo del Inka offers travelers a luxurious experience in the Sacred Valley, and the staff goes to every length to ensure guests with an idyllic stay.

Wash it down with the Valle Encantado, a refreshing drink that incorporates passion fruit, coconut cream, and aguaymanto liquor. Enjoy a second cocktail in the comfortable Kiri Bar.
