Your group will set out for Ollantaytambo, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach. At the tour’s private dock, there are changing rooms, showers, bathrooms, and picturesque gardens.
After you get your instructions and safety information, you will start your tour in gentle water, where you can practice following your guide’s commands. Then you’ll continue to some rapids, nicknamed “The Station,” and “The Resbaladero.” Along the route you’ll see platforms that the Inca built. Modern fishermen still use them today.
Your tour will continue to Cusco in the afternoon.
Attraction Visited
Peru’s Urubamba River begins in the Andes, runs past Machu Picchu, and then flows through the Sacred Valley. The river has wonderful rafting.
