The train is decorated in the style of Pullman trains from the 1920s. It has an elegant dining car and a car-bar outdoor observatory. From here, you can admire views of the Andes and Huataney River. You’ll see alpaca and vicuña foraging in the high plains, and locals strolling through small villages. The train also makes a brief stop in La Raya—located at an elevation of 14,150 feet (4,313 m), La Raya hosts a colonial chapel set upon a high plateau. It’s a very picturesque and attractive area.
During the ride you’ll enjoy a gourmet lunch, afternoon tea, and musical entertainment; oftentimes there is also a fashion show of typical Peruvian clothing. Guests are offered unlimited coca tea, chamomile tea, and water.
