Belize’s Blue Hole Reserve has made this part of the Caribbean a hot spot for serious divers. This sinkhole is 984 feet (300 m) across and 410 feet (125 m) deep. Banana Beach Resort is walking distance from convenient dive shops. In addition to kayaking, diving, and snorkeling tours, you can also arrange to have a boat take you to shore to tour the mainland. Voyage inland to see Maya ruins, rainforest reserves, and mountains. Day excursions to the beach are the easiest to arrange – just walk a short distance from the resort’s private beach. When you want to explore more of the island, ask the friendly Banana Beach Resort staff about where you get a golf cart or a beach cruiser.
Rooms open up onto a deck that faces the central courtyard. This courtyard’s main feature is a large swimming pool. Comfortable lounge chairs and patio furniture surround the pool. Leafy green plants line the balconies that overlook the pools.
You have the option of a regular room or a suite. These rooms have colorful bedspreads and window treatments, and walls that are decorated with tapestries that were woven in the Yucatán. All of the rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. You’ll also have a cable TV with more than a hundred channels. Banana Beach Resort rooms are equipped with direct-dial phones for your convenience.
If you choose a room or a suite with a kitchenette, you’ll have access to a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, a toaster, and a coffee maker. Every room comes with a private bathroom.
Guests can have all their meals provided at the hotel restaurant, the El Divino Caribbean Steakhouse and Martini Bar. It has a wide selection of all the food you want on a vacation – premium cuts of steak, burgers, seafood, and tropical cocktails. Guests can have a continental breakfast of bread, fruit, juice, and coffee or tea, or order off of the more elaborate El Divino breakfast menu.
At the Banana Resort massage hut, masseuses specialize in deep tissue and Swedish massage. The hut is in the hotel’s bamboo garden, right next to the beach. You can also request to have a massage in your room.
