Inti Punku Machu Picchu Hotel
This hotel is a convenient overnight for travelers coming to or leaving Machu Picchu. It boasts a very short walk to the shuttle that goes to the ruins, and your stay here comes with a convenient breakfast.
Most people come to this small town simply for access to Machu Picchu, perhaps at the end of a long trek through the Andes. Aguas Calientes’ one other claim to fame are its hot springs – they aren’t especially beautiful, but they might hit the spot if you’re in the mood for a natural Jacuzzi. There’s also a train station here that can take you to other fascinating spots in the Sacred Valley – from the ruins of Ollantaytambo all the way to elaborate Spanish cathedrals in Cusco.
Rooms are simple, equipped with cable TVs and safety deposit boxes, plus all the furnishings you would expect from a midrange hotel room. All of the rooms come with private bathrooms that make a nice spot to refresh with a soothing shower. The bathrooms also come with hair dryers.
Your stay here includes a free breakfast buffet. There is Wi-Fi, although you might not find the signal strong enough for anything that requires a lot of bandwidth. If you’re checking out before you see Machu Picchu, the hotel will happily store your baggage. After a long day of hiking, you may want to use the laundry service before you continue to your next stop.
