Cusco is a charming city that many travelers are likely experience during their time in Peru. It’s close to both Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, and has all kinds of hiking, biking, and bird watching opportunities outside of town. Cusco is spread thick with cultural and historical attractions—travelers will enjoy visiting Spanish colonial buildings that are supported by Incan stonework at their base. Cusco also has good restaurants, shops, and bars to sample.
Sonesta Posada del Inca is centrally located in Cusco. The Plaza de Armas, and its fascinating cathedral, are right here, as are a number of restaurants, shops, and bars. This is a good hotel to stay at if you plan to explore some of Cusco on foot.
Guests will enjoy the hotel’s comfortable and clean rooms. The rooms are tastefully decorated and equipped with a range of modern amenities, including a cable TV, safety deposit box, and direct-dial telephone (for both domestic and international calls). The windows are big and soundproof, which keeps the rooms quiet and allows you to get a solid night of sleep; the windows also overlook El Sol Avenue. Heaters keep the rooms warm during cooler months, and all rooms have a private bathroom with a hot water shower, hair dryer, and toiletries.
There is an onsite restaurant where guests can enjoy food from 5:30 AM till 10:30 PM. The chefs prepare traditional Peruvian dishes and tasty international cuisine in a pleasant setting. A complimentary breakfast of fruit, cereal, toast, pancakes, and eggs is offered here each morning. There are also outdoor dining areas that allow you to sip a glass of wine and look out over the city. The bar is well stocked with a range of liquor, beer, and wine. Room service is offered as well.
If you need to check your email (or the score of your home team’s most recent game), you can enjoy free use of the computers in the onsite business center. There is a gift shop where you can purchase snacks and small handicrafts, and currency exchange available at the front desk. A more traditional style of Hotel, the hotel was in a great location for all of the sights in Cusco. The only issue was the in first room on the first floor there was need for a room heater, although the hair dryer which we ran for an hour did the trick. The second room on the ground floor was warmer.
