The hike with the llamas is only moderately challenging, and you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views and a picnic. Your tour begins with packing the llamas. There’s definitely an art to this process, and your guides know exactly how much each animal can carry comfortably. They’ll also show you how to interact with the animals, ensuring that both you and the llamas have a good experience. Guides can also show you which llamas you can pet – not all llamas have friendly temperaments, so it’s important to follow the expert’s lead.

As you hike, you’ll be behind the llama herd, ensuring you have enough space to enjoy the scenery. The zig-zagging trail brings you to the picnic stop after about an hour of uphill trekking. After your picnic, you’ll make the much quicker downhill trek back to the starting point.
