Visitors come to Caye Caulker for its blue water, lack of cars, and casual atmosphere. As you might guess by its location, this is a great destination for you to book fishing and boating tours. There are reefs and atolls near the Caye Caulker where you can go on unforgettable snorkeling and scuba diving trips. While you’re on Caye Caulker you can go check out The Split, a channel of water created by a break in the island. Spend and afternoon here to get a feel for the local scene. Go to the north side of the island for kayaking around mangroves – this is a lovely area for early-morning bird watching.
Iguana Reef, like so much on Caye Caulker, evokes the relaxed grandeur of bygone Caribbean culture. You’ll find the hotel’s lobby and communal areas outfitted with bamboo furniture. If you’re looking for convenient sunbathing, head to the hotel patio and the freshwater swimming pool.
A complimentary breakfast with fresh coffee is included in your stay at the hotel’s on-site restaurant. You should also spend a sunset on the hotel’s bar, which is situated on a verandah that overlooks the beach.
Rooms at Iguana Reef are infused with colorful touches of Caye Caulker culture, and are decorated with local art. Accommodations here have tiled floors, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. Every room comes with a safety deposit box and a private bathroom. In a deluxe room you’ll get a private living living area as well as your own patio.
This was definably one of our nicer accommodations and the staff here were very helpful as well. They paid us back for not picking us up at the airport.
