Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is best known for its magnificent baobab trees, massive herds of elephants and towering termite mounds. The park is named for the Tarangire River, which is the main source of water for wildlife in the Tarangire ecosystem during the dry season. From June to November, as the migratory animals return to the park, impressive numbers of wildlife congregate along the banks of the river. At the height of the dry season, the quality of game viewing can rival that of the Serengeti.

Situated in the Indian Ocean approximately 22 miles (36 km) off of Tanzania’s coast, the Zanzibar Archipelago comprises more than 50 islands. It is here in the Central Serengeti that the Serengeti plains gradually transform into undulating hills and woodlands that dominate the Western and Northern Serengeti. The main attraction of the Central Serengeti is the beautiful Seronera River Valley, home to a great diversity of resident wildlife due to its unique ecological niche as a transitional zone where two distinctly different habitats, the plains and woodlands, merge and various species of wildlife from both habitats can coexist.

Arusha is a city in Northern Tanzania located in the foothills of Mount Meru, at an elevation of 4,600 feet (1,400 m). Despite its close proximity to the equator, the climate in Arusha is temperate and comfortable year round. Arusha is the gateway to some of the best-known safari destinations in Africa, including the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park. There are also incredible treks to take up neighboring Mount Kilimanjaro.
