A Family Relaxation Vacation
Our two-week vacation was extremely laid-back and fun. It was nice to experience the Belize way of life as we explored the different coastlines and mingled with the locals. It is definitely an ideal destination for families!
The perfect family vacation…
Our kids are 15, 12, and 10 years old respectively, and we were looking for a relaxing vacation where we could have some beach time and enjoy the amenities of the places we were staying at. Claudia planned the *perfect* itinerary that took us to Ambergris Caye, San Ignacio, and Placencia Village.
Relaxing resort with stunning views…
San Ignacio resort is our favorite place of the three. It’s very close to downtown where all the restaurants are, but also in a beautiful location with spectacular views. They were very nice and moved us to a family room that could fit two adults and our three kids. The staff was amazing at San Ignacio resort, super friendly and helpful. We left some items in the room and they mailed these to the USA after we contacted them.
Comfortable rides all around…
Placencia Village is a great place to visit at the end of a trip because you’re totally in a relaxed, vacation mood. We had a lot of fun biking around the area and enjoying the ocean breeze. Throughout the trip, we booked private transfers to take us from one destination to another. Steven, our driver, was great and very friendly!
Places you'll stay
Ambergris Caye
Ambergris Caye is Belize’s largest island and the most well known destination in Belize. Located at the northern end of Belize’s waters, a small channel dug by the Maya separates Ambergris Caye from Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. The narrow, 25-mile (40-km) long island is surrounded by the Caribbean’s aquamarine waters and consists of mangroves, lagoons, and the laid back town of San Pedro, which sits upon a low sandy plateau near the southern end of the island.
San Ignacio
San Ignacio, often referred to as Cayo, is a laid back town in the western foothills of the Mayan Mountains. Located right along the Western Highway, San Ignacio is popular among travelers as it provides modern tourist amenities while retaining its authenticity. The town sits directly on the meandering Macal River and is surrounded by green rolling hills where adventure awaits.
Placencia Village
Beachfront reggae bars, colorful guesthouses, and a spacious expanse of beach attract tourists to Placencia Village. Located at the end of the 16-mile (28-km) Placencia peninsula, it is the most lively destination in the region. It offers restaurants, shopping, nightlife, accommodations, and tour services.
