Your day begins with a 7:00 AM pick-up from your hotel in Quetzaltenango, followed by a scenic 2-hour transfer to Refugio del Quetzal. Upon arrival, a local Spanish-speaking guide will be waiting to lead you along forest trails in search of the elusive Resplendent Quetzal.
After the guided walk, you will continue to an area with hummingbird feeders, where you can observe a variety of colorful species. Keep an eye out for remarkable birds such as the Emerald Toucanet, Azure-rumped Tanager, Yellow-throated Euphonia, and several species of hummingbirds that inhabit the region.
To complete your experience, enjoy a traditional countryside lunch featuring a comforting chicken and vegetable soup.
